Motherhood has been rough for me

Wow I can't believe that Owen will be 3 weeks on Friday, and have we had a tough 3 weeks. The first week we were taking him in for the first 3 days to the hospital to stay on top of his Jaundice levels. Well that all turned out ok. I was still healing through the 2nd week and I was just starting to get the hang of things and Tad goes to Seattle for work overnight leaving me home healing and taking care of our newborn son. I have had problems nursing because my nipples were inverted, and then my friend told me about a nipple shield. My cousin Amy had one and she came over and let me use it. Yes, I thought things were looking up. Well this past week my body decided to have a breast infection and yes Tad was in Seattle for 3 days while I am getting this infection. The highest my fever got was 104.4. I called the doctor and he put me on antibiotics to help get it all cleared up. It has been such a challenge going through all of this, but the Lord has blessed me with such great family and friends to support me and is there for me if I need anything.

From generation to generation to generation to generation

This sleeper that Owen is wearing my dad wore when he was a little boy. Then when both my brothers were born they wore it also. Now it is passed on to Owen and we will pass it on to the next baby boy when the time comes. I think that in this picture he looks alot like my cousin Megan's little boy Cade. Sorry I don't know how to rotate the picture so you'll have to turn your head.

Great Grandparents

Owen is lucky to have 4 great grandparents and they all couldn't wait to welcome him int the world. great grandma and great grandpa radke, gi gi kicker and gi gi mom kramer.

Proud Grandparents

Tad's parents were there all day in the waiting room as well and they were anxiously awaiting the new arrival of there first grandchild.

Owen meet your family

Owen's uncles are so excited to finally meet him. They were at the hospital waiting and it was a race between Colby and Jordan to who came in first and who got to be the first one to hold their nephew. Colby was the first one in to see Owen, but Jordan was the first one to change Owen's malconium diaper. Lindsey came and was so excited to meet Owen and see him for the first time. Laura was at the hospital but she had to get back to work so she got to meet her nephew for the first time on Saturday. I was so blessed to have my brothers to be there to celebrate this special time with us. Nana and Papa dawg were very excited to meet their grandson and they couldn't believe he was finally here. They are enjoying every minute of being grandparents. Amy, and her 2 boys came to the hospital to meet Owen and Jaxon was very excited and Aunt June came too.

Now there are 3 in our family

After being in labor for about 11 1/2 hours Owen came in our lives. He weighed 6 lbs 15.3 ounces and he was 21 inches long. He was perfect. He had all 10 fingers and 10 toes.He has lots of hair. He had jaundice and there was a chance that we had to put him back into the hospital to put him under the lights to help it go down. But with everyone praying his jaundice went down and we didn't have to do that. I couldn't bare putting him back into the hospital.

I'm in labor

On February 6th I began labor at 1:45 a.m. By 4:oo a.m. I made it to the hospital and I was already dilated to a 6. I was excited thinking that my labor would be fast. 2 hours later I was dilated to an 8. Well then I stayed at an 8 for like 4 or 5 hours and I hadn't had any medications yet and I thought I would die. So I took feterol for 3 hours. I wasn't progressing at all and so the doctor decided to give me patossun to help the contractions be stronger. At this point I couldn't take the pain any more and so I was given an ephidural. Oh that was amazing I couldn't feel anyting and I was able to rest a little bit. I was on that for about an hour and I was at a ten and the doctor said I could start pushing. Everything was going good until he nurse left and had to bring in the doctor. With every contraction I had and I started to push Owen's heart rate would drop, and he was still face up. I pushed and pushed and his heart rate still dropped. Finally after pushing for 1 hour and 28 minutes out Owen came. The cord was wrapped around his neck so thats why his heart rate dropped with every push. Tad got to cut the cord and we began to enjoy our new bundle of joy. God has blessed us with a healthy and beautiful little boy.

The Valence

I got the valence up in Owen's room to make it almost complete. Now we are just waiting for him to come. I can't wait until he comes out. My body can't handle it any more. I am in the home stretch now and he could come anytime this week. If he doesn't well then I will not be happy and will be having a little chat with the doctor to do whatever he needs to to get this child out of me.

Changing table arrived

Yeay our changing table came early and Tad worked hard at putting it together. It is stuffed full of clothes for Owen. He is so blessed to have so many clothes. I don't know if he will wear all of them fast enough.
